God's 'Peek-a-Boos' Always Welcome

God said, "This is the sign of the covenant which I am making between Me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all successive generations; I set My bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a sign of a covenant between Me and the earth. It shall come about, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow will be seen in the cloud, and I will remember My covenant, which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and never again shall the water become a flood to destroy all flesh. When the bow is in the cloud, then I will look upon it, to remember the everlasting covenant of all flesh that is on the earth." And God said to Noah, "This is the sign of the covenant which I have established between Me and all flesh that is on the earth." - Genesis 9:12-17

Is it just me, or does it seem like the world is spinning out of control, lately?

No, it's not just me. Everyone I know and even strangers in the Walmart checkout lines I talk to, feels the same way. Yes, I am the person who talks to anyone and everyone whether I know them or not. LOL. Hey, it's how God wired me! :)

The 24th chapter of Matthew tells us exactly what Jesus told His disciples regarding signs of His eventual return. Wars and rumors of wars, nation rising against nation, famines, earthquakes, lawlessness, the appearance of false prophets and the love people have for one another growing cold, are among the signs we are told to look for. At this point, we don't have to look, they're all around us.

Have you ever wondered, as I do on occasion, what keeps God from just blowing up the world into smithereens, given all the sin, corruption, moral corruption and worst of all ... spiritual decline? I have. And who could blame Him, when upon first creating the world and everything in it, He deemed it "good"? (Genesis 1:31)

I believe the answer is found in 2 Peter 3:9:

"The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient towards you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance."

The next time you're frightened, discouraged, feeling alone and/or depressed, never forget that God's bow - the rainbow - is always - always - present, even when you can't see it. Beloved, God knows when you need encouragement to keep on going. Whether He sends an unexpected 'peek-a-boo' rainbow in the sky or speaking to your heart, mind, spirit and soul through another way (song, book, the words of a stranger or loved one) - He is always quick to remind you that you're NOT alone.

Because, you're not.
