Trust Me - You're Anything BUT, Alone

Updated: Jun 29, 2023

I've heard it said many times that you can be in a room full of people but feel more alone than if you actually were the only person in the room. I know exactly how that feels, and if you're anything like I used to be - drinking too much and hiding it out of guilt and shame - my bet is that you know what it feels like, too.

The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you
nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. - Deuteronomy 31:8

You can't begin to know how many things I tried to free myself from alcohol prison - once I stopped playing games with myself, that is. The many ways I would try to cut back on my intake by moderating including such insane things, like ... 'I'll only drink on the weekends. I'll only have wine with dinner. I'll never drink alone. I'll have two glasses and then no more. I'll never drink hard liquor.'

How humbled and grateful I am that God was indeed with me throughout my years of self-inflicted incarceration into alcohol prison, loving me in spite of myself and waiting until I was at the end of the end of THE END of myself, before answering my cries for help.

God allowed me to go through this particular hell and miraculous deliverance, for such a time and purpose as this. To minister to fellow brothers and sisters in Christ - and, well anyone who'll give me the time of day, for that matter - to give them the same comfort in which I myself have been comforted.

Whoever you are, wherever you are, trust in God's Word. He's never let me down, and He'll never let you down. Or let you be alone.

In His service and yours,
Paulette
